"I am not a turntablist. I like records, not only for the recorded sound, but also the scratches, pops, and hiss that they gain over time. Those sounds became more important to me than the others. Almost every sound I've ever recorded has come from these, or more often from the 400 or so montage flexidiscs I've made over the years. The montages are just that, cut up and recombined flexidiscs. Music, dead voices, pops, crackles and noise all slurred together in never ending combinations. Played on a variety of obsolete record players. Califones, Newscomes, Fisher Price, and General Electrics each with its own sound and quirks."
